Netball Success at Stockland Green School

Our Year 9 and 10 students were successful in coming third in the KSSP Netball Tournament at Great Barr School last week.

A Year 7 and 8 netball competition was also held at Stockland Green School on Wednesday 6th May.  Twelve of our young leaders led the entire event; from umpiring, scoring, timing and officiating.

Similarly, the Year 7 and 8 netball team have copied the  older girls and have also been successful in securing the Bronze medal in the KSSP Netball tournament.

We held the competition here with a crowd of parents and other students from our netball club all supporting.  The girls did the school proud as they fought till every last whistle to get the ball and score.

A special well done to Tiawana Huntley, who played exceptionally well in every game, by getting several interceptions and stopping the opposition from scoring.   She played very well against the Goal Attack from Perry Beeches who was very tall and physical.  She held her ground and played her heart out.

It must be a sister thing, as Loshawnte Blake umpired half of the matches and had some very positive comments about her confidence, knowledge of the game and her authority on court by parents and staff from other schools. S he showed the other schools the quality of leadership we expect and she enjoyed every second if it knowing that she was in control and that it was helping  towards her leadership qualification in her PE GCSE.

A very positive evening all round.
