On Wednesday 20th May Stockland Green PE department took fifteen Year 7 and 8 boys and girls to compete in a
regional football tournament at the new home of English football, St George’s
Park.
All the students were a real credit to the school and both won their respective
tournaments!!
The boys did not lose a single game. They won every group stage game and the semi-final, against tough opposition, before winning the cup final 3-2.
The girls, under the excellent guidance of Mr Morton came third in their group stage and qualified for the ‘Shield’ knock out stages final . They then successfully went on to win their final 1-0!
Leif Ward really helped the girls and scored 4 goals. Well done Leif

It is a brilliant achievement for all the students, especially
the girls who only started playing together eight weeks ago.
A great end to the half term for football at Stockland Green
